Itinerary for 5 days Ouarzazate and Taroudant with Essaouira from Marrakech:

Day 1: Marrakech - Ait ben Haddou - Ouarzazate.

Our adventure begins at 7 AM with a pickup from your hotel in Marrakech. We’ll drive through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. The breathtaking scenery, with its towering mountains and traditional Berber villages, provides a glimpse into the daily life of Berber families. As we descend the eastern side of the mountain range, the landscape transforms into a vast, arid desert.

We will then visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a stunning fortified village (Ksour). After exploring the site, you can enjoy lunch either at Ait Ben Haddou or at a panoramic Berber restaurant along the way. We’ll spend the first night in Ouarzazate. Dinner, bed, and breakfast included.

Day 2: Ouarzazate -Taroudant.

After breakfast, we’ll start our day with a city tour of Ouarzazate, including an optional visit to the film studios and the Taourirt Kasbah. We’ll then head towards Taznakht, a small village in the Anti-Atlas region famous for its handcrafted Berber rugs made from virgin wool, featuring designs that reflect Berber culture and creativity. You may choose to have lunch here or simply relax and soak in the atmosphere.

Continuing through the Anti-Atlas Mountains, we’ll stop for photos at scenic locations before descending into the Souss Plain. Our journey ends in Taroudant, where we’ll spend the night. Dinner, bed, and breakfast included.

Day 3: Taroudant - Agadir

After breakfast, we’ll explore the beautiful landscapes surrounding Taroudant before heading to Agadir. On the way, we’ll visit the Souss-Massa National Park, where you can discover a variety of wildlife. The park, established in 1991, spans 33,800 hectares and is dedicated to the conservation of Saharan fauna. It is home to over 250 bird species, 30 mammals, and 35 species of amphibians and reptiles.

Our visit to the park begins around 9 AM, with a pickup from the hotel at 8 AM. After a short drive, we’ll start at the museum, where you’ll learn about endangered species such as the Scimitar-horned Oryx, Addax, and Bald Ibis, before exploring the park itself. We’ll conclude our day with a stay at a hotel in Agadir. Dinner, bed, and breakfast included.

Day 4: Agadir - Essaouira:

Today, we’ll journey to Essaouira, a city rich in history, culture, and heritage. We’ll start with a scenic drive through the Atlas Mountains, making several stops along the way:

First stop: To see the famous “flying goats” that climb argan trees in search of nuts.
Second stop: For a coffee break in a Berber village.
Third stop: To visit an argan oil cooperative.

Upon arriving in Essaouira, you’ll have free time to explore the charming medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Stroll through the souk, walk along the ancient walls of the Kasbah and La Scala, and visit the port, municipal market, and local artisan shops. The medina is a treasure trove of handcrafted goods, including Thuja wood products, clothing, and rugs. We’ll spend the night in Essaouira. Dinner, bed, and breakfast included.

Day 5: Essaouira - Marrakech.

On the final day of our tour, you’ll have free time in the morning to explore more of Essaouira or enjoy a fresh seafood meal by the sea. We’ll then depart for Marrakech, with a stop in an argan tree forest to visit a cooperative where argan oil is produced. The journey will take us through several Berber villages before concluding in Marrakech, where our tour ends.
