6 Days Desert tour from Fes to Merzouga Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Fes
On the first day of our 6 Day Desert Tour from Fes to Merzouga, we will pick you up at the airport and take you to your accommodation, depending on your arrival time and the opportunity of making first contact with the city.
Day 2: Visiting of Fes
A full day spent exploring the kingdom’s most scholarly metropolis. There are several monuments to visit: Medersas (Koranic Schools): Chahrij and Bouinania Attarin. Souks, Fes El-Jedid, Karaouine Mosque (the world’s first university).
Day 3: Fes - Ifran - Cedar Forest - Midalet - Merzouga
After breakfast, we will begin our third day on a six-day Fes Desert journey to Merzouga Sahara, departing from Ifrane. We’ll pass the Cedar Forest to reach Ziz Valley and Tafilalte. In the afternoon, we will arrive at the Merzouga desert camp and ride camels to spend the night in a nomadic tent. Dinner and lodging in the Tents.
Day 4: Merzouga - Erg Chebbi Dunes
You’re already in the desert! Enjoying the magic of the dunes. After admiring the beautiful sunrise in the dunes, we return to the hotel with the camels, take the 4 × 4 and meet these lands: the lake or Dayet Srji full of flamenco, to the house of a family of Gnawa or Bambara musicians, descendants of slaves who came from Black Africa, and who will delight us with their traditional music. We will visit the dunes along the Paris-Dakar route and meet semi-nomadic communities living in the sand and stone. A real adventure!! In the afternoon, we’ll return to the hotel and spend the night
Day 5: Merzouga - Middle Atlas - Fez
After breakfast, head for Fes via Rissani, Morocco’s former economic center. We will proceed towards the Ziz Valley, crossing via Tafilalet and admiring the panoramic views of Palmerales and Gorges. We will arrive in AZROU after admiring the magnificent scenery of the Middle Atlas and the Forest of the Cedars, with an essential stop to watch the monkeys living freely. Then we’ll journey through IFRANE (often known as “Moroccan Switzerland”) before arriving in Fez in the afternoon.
This is the second to last day of our six-day desert trek from Fes to Merzouga.
Day 6: Fez - Airport
Transfer to Fez airport at the agreed-upon hour, marking the end of our 6-day Fes desert vacation to Merzouga.
